The 2027 amounts were set by a Council of Ministers regulation of 14 September 2026 (Dz.U. 2026 poz. 1213). It is no longer a proposal but a decision in force: some websites still write about a "government proposal", which is out of date.

Gross and net: what is the difference

Gross is the amount in the contract before contributions and tax. Net is what reaches your bank account. From the 2026 minimum wage on an employment contract (over 26), the employer deducts:

  • ZUS contributions (pension, disability, sickness): 658.91 zł;
  • health insurance: 373.24 zł;
  • PIT tax advance: 168 zł (if you have given your employer a PIT-2 form).

That leaves 3,605.85 zł take-home. Without a PIT-2 form the tax is higher and you take home roughly 300 zł less. If this is your main job, give your employer a PIT-2.

Workers under 26 pay no PIT on their earnings (the so-called "zero PIT"), so they take home more: 3,773.85 zł in 2026.

Which contracts the minimum wage covers

  • Umowa o pracę (employment contract): the monthly minimum wage applies, 4,806 zł in 2026 and 4,950 zł from 2027 for full time. Part time is paid proportionally.
  • Umowa zlecenia and service contracts: the minimum hourly rate applies, 31.40 zł gross in 2026 and 32.30 zł from 2027 for every hour worked.
  • Self-employed without staff (own business, B2B): also entitled to the minimum hourly rate.
  • Umowa o dzieło (contract for a specific task): not covered by the minimum wage act, so no minimum rate is guaranteed.

Take-home pay per hour on umowa zlecenia

The exact amount depends on your age, student status and whether you pay the voluntary sickness contribution. Guide figures from calculations by the Polish portal Infor:

  • at 31.40 zł gross in 2026: 24.66 zł net with voluntary sickness insurance and 25.36 zł net without it;
  • students under 26 will get the full 32.30 zł net in 2027, because no contributions or tax are deducted from their zlecenie earnings.

Sickness insurance on zlecenie is voluntary, but without it your sick leave is not paid. Before you sign, ask your coordinator whether it is included.

What does not count towards the minimum wage

An employer cannot "top up" to the minimum wage with bonuses. The following do not count towards the minimum wage:

  • overtime pay;
  • night work bonus;
  • seniority bonus (dodatek stażowy);
  • bonus for work in special conditions;
  • jubilee awards and retirement severance pay.

So if you work nights, the 20% bonus comes on top of the minimum wage.

Will there be a rise in July 2027

By law the minimum wage rises twice a year (on 1 January and 1 July) only when forecast inflation is 5% or more. The forecast for 2027 is lower, so there is one rise, on 1 January 2027. The government set the 2026 and 2027 amounts in September of the year before (11.09.2025 and 14.09.2026). As soon as the 2028 amount is announced, we will update this article.

Average salary in Poland

  • Average salary in the enterprise sector in August 2026: 9,259.54 zł gross (GUS data of 21.09.2026).
  • Average salary in the national economy for 2025: 8,903.56 zł gross (GUS, 09.02.2026).

The average includes office workers, IT and managers, so for warehouse or production work the net hourly rate in vacancies is a more realistic guide.
